I’m Tama Sweet, the owner and host of Sweet Retreat. I’m a retired teacher who fell in love with the rivers, woods, and people of this state as a child. I called it 'New River Gorge-ous before it was fashionable! One of my greatest joys is sharing this special part of Southern West Virginia with guests from everywhere.

At Sweet Retreat, I think of guests as loved ones coming to visit. The lodge is a real home first, filled with family photos, books, art, personal collections, and the little details that make it feel warm, personal, and cared for.

One of my favorite things about the house is the way the skylights, large windows, and French doors fill the rooms with light, frame the woods, and gently draw guests outside to the deck, the trees, and the quiet of the property.
